| From
an idea to paper to print is what we call “The
Process.”
1.
To begin, we’ll gather thoughts, ideas,
colors, forms that you had in mind for your project.
We’ll discuss what your vision is for this
project. If you wanted a complete redesign and
start fresh. Or to work off an existing idea,
change the look slightly. Perhaps integrating
a new color or changing the type.
2.
From the ideas we’ve gathered in the initial
consultation, we’ll begin to put the ideas
down on paper. We’ll take your vision, your
suggestions, and create a few designs, or roughs,
to review. Roughs are quick sketches or designs
that have been created based on our initial thoughts
and ideas. We’ll submit them to you for
review, discuss changes or additions you’d
like to make.
3.
After we discuss changes or additions to the roughs,
we’ll take one or two ideas and refine them
to a more detailed design, or comp. These comps
will have refined color and type, to look closer
to your vision.
4.
From the comps, we will finalize one idea into
a complete project. In this final step, we will
tweak any color, type, and layout issues until
you are completely satisfied. We will go back
and forth with changes until we have achieved
a final proof. Once you have approved this proof,
we’ll turn it into the elements you need.
•
If this is a logo design project with accompanying
stationary, we’ll set up a business card,
letterhead, and fax cover sheet along with supplying
you the file types you’re printer may
need.
• If this is a brochure design, we’ll
set up the brochure for your printer in printer
spreads for print and reader spreads for viewing
on the computer or in a print out.
• If this is an invitation design, we’ll
provide you a complete set up for you to view,
if Paper & Ink Designs will be printing
and creating your invitation set. If you are
using an outside printer, we will set up the
file for print and provide any file types your
printer may need.
• If this is a custom design, we’ll
set up the project for print for your printer
and provide you with the files they may need.
If this project is able to be printed at Paper
& Ink Designs, we’ll provide you with
a print out for you to view.
• If this is a billboard design, we’ll
provide you the file for your billboard supplier/printer.
